Light Weight Portable, Private and Secure or is it?

Happy Independence day to all Americans and would be (aspiring) Americans! Light Weight Portable, Private and Secure or is it?

It looks like American Defense Industry is  doing catching up service (activity).
Sometime Americans let me laugh at myself.
I am not antiamerican (there is no word called antiamerican in the American dictionary) in philosophy but in ideology.
My theme is small is beautiful.
The American ideology is bigger the best.
The Thinking Big is IBM philosophy.
In other words, the richer an American becomes better is for the world.
The American dream is become rich from cradle to the grave, even if you are not a politician.  Our dream is let only politicians become rich by default

My theme is “become rich just enough to become small in thinking of becoming big but big in thinking to be sustainable and not become a big White (or Black or Yellow or brown) Pest in this world which cannot afford to have anymore with scarce resources.
I like one American Philosophy and that is to be liberal in thinking not aristocratic or regimented like in a orthodox religion.

Become a free thinker and an open inquirer.

The WiKiLeakes has done enough damage to American esteem and reputation and they are adopting some of my Linux strategy in practice.
United States of America’s Department of Defense has produced a Linux Live CD for public use probably for Americans abroad and would be non-american spies in the Middle East (Not necessary in Sri-Lanka, we do not have secrets that Americans do not know except the last two days of our departure or radio silence when most essential silence was maintained by the defense establishment which American have to come here and learn from out Big Ball Boys of Cricket-how to land a carom ball or a googly at will- we never tell English boys how much Mahela is going to score in the next match or the World Cup final).

Sri-Lanka is the only country in this world where Americans do not need to have any secret spies and our defense secretary is American by registrations and does not trust American a wee bit but our mothers would be when pregnant, do not say Baby going to London town but My Baby is going to New York or Washington is the current theme and from mothers to fathers to babies will give American embassy their money to spy on our mother Lanka.

It is amazing to see they are stealing my original Sri-Lankan ideas and I feel bit redundant, though.
1. Number one is Light Weight (Bonobo type of Linux distributions-SLiTaz is only 30 MiB) distributions in Linux
2. Number two of my ideas is make all distribution Public including Microsoft and Apple which are all American Creations with serious bugs when WiKILeaks  used them exposed them.
In other words American inventions are the most reliable security lapses that we can exploit to get American secrets.
3. For security I say go for Linux and the Americans have turned to Linux for safety and security but leaving daring loop holes in execution of them.
Having said that they are new to Linux and one never uses root permission (only when one roots on top of a problem or underdog) to boot but their Live CD is already booted and rooted all the time like American based French IMF guys.
Another alarming feature is hashed passwords are stored in the would be-readable /etc/passwd file, that can be cracked.
The funniest part and which I laugh at length is they are promoting my AntiMicrosft stance from the DoD (Department of Defense) which accepts Microsoft is the biggest liability.
Another great idea is to use Flash  which recently had breached security through FireFox browser.
These American in the Defense Department got them all wrong and Linus Torvalds must be laughing nonstop like over nonstop singers and dancers.
American please use this distribution at your own liberty and risk but non-americans beware that this must be another ploy to make some unrest in the Middle East which they are fast losing ground.
I am downloading it and will be very elaborate when I give my next comment.
If you need more details please visit distrowatch weekly review but thier description lacks funny tone coming from America.
American do not know how to laugh at themselves and DoD has given them a big opportunity.
Use when there is freedom of disposal, Linux-wise.

SliTaz-3.0

Small is Beautiful!
Below  are a few lines by a guy like me who like me lie little things.
this was written probably 5 years ago when the distribution was 25 MIB
I thank him for his precise description of SliTaz.

(This is easily my favorite live CD now. I admire DSL for being versatile and fast, and I do like the way Puppy Linux has evolved. But it’s hard to beat a pretty, usable, complete system that ducks under the 25Mb mark, and does it so well. Fatter distributions (and I’m thinking of Xubuntu, et al., here) would do well to notice how much can be done with so little).

 Read Porteus Linux too.

This minimal Swedish distribution is only 30 MiB and it has burner, browser, install script, gparted and a manual.
It can play music and watch a video and visualize a photograph.
Amazingly it is smaller that the Damn Small Linux (DSL).

It has a lovely graphic presence and is a server version.
I new about this and never bothered to downloaded it thinking it is only in text mode and no graphic.
I was proven wrong and it has a lovely graphic mode.
After installation one can use the package manager to install what one wants.
The is the down to earth customizable version of Linux and any version bigger than it will have to be treated with insulin.
It has two version stable version and a cooking version with a DVD with packages.
1.5 GiB for stable version and 2.7 for the coking version.
I am sorry guys and girls at SliTaz of my prejudices coming from a windows background.

Like Porteus Linux you get 100 out of 100 points from me and another 100 for being the smallest functional distribution and will be the latest convert of your distribution and would be downloading the packages.

Small is beautiful

This country is going through what I called the Mega Mania Memorabilia (3M) Syndrome or the 3 M syndrome.

It reminds me of a a famous American company who markets little medical equipment and utilities including steristrips and steritapes (sterile material that could be taken from a pack and used directly (wrapped cleanly) without any fear of contamination) which I used to bring from abroad and introduce them here some years back.

One cannot find them even in a good pharmacy in this country now.

In actual fact one cannot find a sterilized dab (swab) of cotton wool leave alone a sanitary towel (sterilization can be easily accomplished by UV light) for females for a reasonable price.

This company in addition to doing small things right produce an array of stethoscopes for doctors.

I should remind you that doctors are a minority in any country but doing small things right this company makes healthy profit year round.

We can presently do the proper sterilization only in a major hospital and send the packs to the periphery in unhygienic condition and by the time they reach the user it probably needs re-sterilization.

Come this country we cannot find any good product (except coconut coir) with coconuts or rubber (it used to be Ceyesta, the combination of coconut coir and rubber that was almost number one in the world) but – fiesta should be its revival name for researching back to the roots of our inventions in the past.

We seem to be not doing small things right.

When we fell a tree 4 trees should be planted to take its place.

What we do is we fell 10,000 trees a day and plant one tree a day on a tree planting day and never look after the sapling till the next important birthday comes and then clean the same pot hole and replant another.

This is country known for looking after a Bo Tree for over 2500 years (last 100 years by putting milk on a Poya day we destroy the roots of that Bo Tree very well looked after for  over2500 years) and cannot care for a sapling for one year and that is also left to school children who study for a competitive examination (to beat a fellow friend is the name of the game ) and come back on a particular day to water it,  not on a daily basis like when we did these things in the yesteryear as kids.

We used to grow with the tree and that metaphor was with us in our entire life that is why I am still a naturalist and an environmentalist to the bone marrows of my thinking.

It is not like that in our children and politicians.

They are good at rhetoric!

I can go on and on but suffice is to say we have to do small things right before we do things of Mega mania.

We must stop becoming 3 Ms but look at how the 3M company come to stay and remain there ever since.

It may be one’s spouse or head master or the all powerful boss at work place but the companion /worker/cohort should shed his or her fear of the boss and do little thing to make the others life happy.

Equally the all powerful boss should stop dishing out rhetoric and do at least little thing to make one’s subordinate happy.

This is what we call in business management keep one’s internal customers happy, then the external customers get a good deal for money.

This is a country where in the private sector did not increase the minimum wage for over a decade under the pretext of on going war.

We talk of sympathy and empathy but it is all bunkum!

Linux100-PuppyLinux-Series-5-62

The best thing that happened to me apart from getting into Linux is downloading a copy of Puppy Linux.

Puppy Linux did everything that one needs in less than 100 MiB in its series 4.
It can be loaded into a Flash Drive, external hard disk.

Loaded to the RAM
it does amazing things.
In its latest series Puppee has Google chrome and Puppy series 5 has net-serf web browser which is amazingly fast.

Puppy has spawned many other versions Wolfe and Quirk and many more.

Linux100-ArchOne-for Acer-06-Update

Arch one for Acer has done a good job by switching to Openbox,
By saving lot of MiB it has included Skype and open office.
Unfortunately it is only for the laptop,
I cannot use it on my old IBM desktop.
